10 Job-Seekers Die In Stampede During Immigration Recruitment In Abuja [PHOTOS]

At least 10 job seekers died today while many more sustained varying degrees of injury on Saturday morning during a stampede at the National Stadium, Abuja — the Federal Capital territory (FCT) venue of the ongoing recruitment test by the Nigeria Immigrations Service (NIS).
 Several thousands of job-seekers thronged the stadium to write the test but only one entrance to the 60,000-capacity stadium was made available. An applicant who turned back after seeing the crowd said there was no way the applicants would not have been more than 60,000.

At least 40 of those who were injured were admitted at the National Hospital in Abuja, a source at the hospital said, adding that several others were referred to other hospitals due to lack of capacity to admit and treat all those injured.

The recruitment exercise is also ongoing in all other states of the federation. At the National Stadium, Surulere — venue of the Lagos recruitment exercise. Reportedly, an applicant said that prospective job-seekers present on Saturday far outnumbered the 45,000 capacity of the stadium.

“I can tell you that more than 100,000 people came for this test”, he said. “I have never seen this kind of crowd before in my life. Even if this was a FIFA World Cup football match, you will never get spectators this many”.

The crowd at the various recruitment centers all over Nigeria is  actually not a strange development, considering Nigeria’s unimpressive unemployment statistics.

In 2011, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) put the country’s unemployment rate at 23.9% , but observers believe that not only is the true figure far higher, the rise in the rate of unemployment over the last three years has been underestimated to paint a rosy picture economic recovery by the Nigerian government.

 20 year old Jojo Tsai was distraught after her boyfriend dumped her. According to her, her boyfriend lied to her about his sincerity towards their relationship. He had always said he wanted to marry and have children with her. She put all her hope in him, built her world around him. Only for him to later say his mother would not approve their marriage.

After the breakup, Jojo attempted to move on with her life by dating other men, but was unable to do so cos she was very much in love with her exboyfriend. So to stop the pain, Jojo killed herself  by jumping off the roof of a building.

But before she did that, she posted a heartbreaking message to her former boyfriend in Chinese on her Instagram page with pictures of her burning stuff from their relationship, then a selfie of herself sitting at the
edge of the building before jumping off. She even posted a photo of the ex boyfriend that broke her heart. Her Instagram page is on fire right now, with people flooding it to sympathise with her family and wish her soul rests in peace.

 Jojo's translated messages read:
“It’s been 12 days since the break up. I’ve gone out, had meals and watched movies with all sorts of guys, some of whom were more handsome than you are. Others are richer than you. I say this only to prove that it isn’t that I can’t find guys better than you. It’s just that my heart is unable to accept anyone else. Every time I go out with them, I end up crying. I force myself to smile, I tell myself ‘the most important thing is to be happy.’ In the end I can’t change my heart.

“Life has been so miserable these past few days. I want to forget all of this, to control my mood and not be crying painfully late at night every night, but I can’t do it, there’s nothing I can do. All of this is too unfair to me, I can’t bear it. I don’t understand why did you give me so many promises? All of it was a lie. In my life, I haven’t done any [seriously] bad things, so why subject me to this kind of torment?
I cannot forget it, unless I die. I never thought that you would deceive me, but I still can't stop loving you. After I'm dead, I will haunt you day and night. I will never be apart from you again.

Wickedness: Police Arraign Pastor For Cutting Off 2-year-old’s Fingers

LORD HAVE MERCY!....WHAT IS THIS?

The Sabo Police Station on Tuesday arraigned a 49-year-old pastor, Moyo Martins, before a Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly cutting off the fingers of a two-year-old child, Saidat Faleye.
The incident happened on Olumo Street, Iwaya Onike, Yaba, Lagos State.
It was learnt that the mother of the victim, Mrs. Bola Faleye, had left her in the care of Martins on Thursday, when she wanted to take her bath.
 
After she was gone, the child and the suspect were said to have been together in his room.
About five minutes later, the child suddenly let out a loud shriek of pain which drew the attention of neighbours.
They reportedly alerted her mother who equally rushed to the scene in panic. She found her child’s ring and little fingers chopped off.


It was alleged that Martins sawed off the fingers in his room.
 
The kid was said to have been rushed to a hospital within the area for treatment.
The suspect initially denied knowing anything about the incident. However, upon his arrest, he allegedly confessed that he did it in error and pleaded to be forgiven.
 
He was arraigned on one count,  which reads, “That you, Moyo Martins, on March 6, 2014, about 1.10pm, at 5, Olumo Street, Iwaya Onike, Yaba, Lagos in the Yaba Magisterial District, did use sharp saw to cut off the left finger of one Saidat Faleye, aged 2 years.”
The police prosecutor, Mr. F. Ifijeh, said the offence was punishable under Section 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.

 The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial at the magistrate’s court.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Y.O Aje-Afunwa, admitted him to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

The matter was adjourned till April 24, 2014

MEET 65-Yr-Old Man Who Impregnated 3 Ladies & His Own Daughter Twice [PICTURED]

A 65-year-old traditional healer from Bezha Village in Umzingwane district impregnated three teenagers from the village including his own daughter for whom he paid Z$80 billion bride price.

Angry villagers on 18 February converged at headman Nkala’s homestead demanding the arrest of Killion Moyo, describing him as a “sex predator” from whom their children were not safe.

Nkala said the issue was reported to Esigodini police.

According to Chronicle News, Moyo fathered two children aged four and three with his daughter. He warned he would send lightning to strike anyone asking about his relationships.

A neighbour’s daughter also has Moyo’s children aged eight and five while another girl who reportedly fled to neighbouring South Africa, has a three-year-old child with the traditional healer.

Moyo confessed to a Chronicle News crew that he had been sleeping with his daughter since 2003 when she was in Grade Seven, alleging it was a way of appeasing the spirit of his late wife.

Further, he stunned villagers alleging that he had paid Z$80 billion lobola (bride price) to his daughter’s grandmother. He also confessed that he has been sleeping with two other young girls from the village.

A villager said: “We are afraid of Moyo because he always threatens to strike people with lightning. He has been involved in a string of child abuse and rape cases for many years.”

One of the victims aged 23, told Chronicle that she was in Grade Seven when she was told by her parents that she was going to stay with Moyo because he was now responsible for paying her fees.

She said Moyo did not send her to school but started involving her in his rituals.
“Moyo gave me a separate room but at night he would sneak into my blankets and tell me that I was a wife of the spirits.

“He took my virginity molesting me until I fell pregnant at the age of 14. He threatened me with lightning if I tried to escape. As it is, I have two children with him and he does not take care of them,” said the victim, who has since fled back to her parents.

Her father, Lazarus Dube said Moyo tricked him into allowing him to marry his under-age daughter by promising him sweet potatoes and cattle.

“He never brought the cattle or the sweet potatoes,” said Dube.

Moyo told Chronicle that the spirit of his late wife Joyce Mpofu ordered him to marry their daughter. His wife died in 1990.

“My wife worked with me during my rituals. After her death she tormented me through dreams, asking me to look for a woman belonging to the family who was going to take her role,” said Moyo, displaying a toothless grin.

“I discussed with my mother-in-law, Petheni Moyo-Bhebhe asking her to give me a wife from her family so that I could solve my problems. She agreed to replace Joyce with my daughter, now 23-years-old.”

Moyo said he took his daughter to his shrine, which he calls Elitsheni and introduced her to the ancestors who approved their marriage.

He added: “I paid my mother-in-law Z$80 billion lobola. She refused to inform other relatives about the issue. I then started sleeping with her.”

Female Student Abducted & Rapéd For Days By Driver In Lagos

The State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, has arraigned a 28yrs old man, Gbenga Asaye, before a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court for allegedly abducting and molesting a female student of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education. The police said the incident happened at the Agege area of the state.

The 18yrs old girl had left her mother’s shop on January 21, 2014, heading to school, but had transportation challenge due to lack of money.

Unfortunately for her, she met Gbenga Asaye, a family friend, on the road. The guy promised to assist her with money and take her back to school in his vehicle...

Gbenga, an Ogun State indigene, was said to have, however, taken the student to his house in Agege where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. Sadly, she who was a virgin before the encounter.

The victim was said to have been abducted by Gbenga for 21 days and he kept "doing it" for the 21 days. The girl couldn't escape as could not muster the courage of telling her parents she had been deflowered.

The mother was said to have reported a case of missing person at the Pen Cinema Police Station, after which enquires about the whereabouts of the girl led to the arrest of Gbenga Asaye.

He was arraigned on Monday before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court on one count of abduction.

The charge reads, “That you, Gbenga Asaye, on January 21, 2014, at 3, Enimature Street, off Oyemekun Street, Agege Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did abduct one (name witheld), aged 18 years for the purpose of séxual intercourse and held her against her consent until February 10, 2014.”

Surprisingly, the guy pleaded not guilty to the charge.
His lawyer, Gbolahan Samuel, applied for the bail of the his client, Gbenga Asaye, in liberal terms. In the words of the lawyer: “My Lord, this is not a case of abduction as it has been made to look on the charge sheet. It is a case of boyfriend and girlfriend.”

The magistrate, Ms Y.B. Badejo-Okusanya, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties. And the matter was adjourned till March 31, 2014 for mention.

Nadia Buari (yes, Buari not Buhari like some of us think) was born on November 21 1982 in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.  The very beautiful Ghanian actress graduated from the university of Ghana, Legon, with a B.FA degree in Fine Arts. Her mother had her for a white man out of wedlock but later she married Alhaji Sidiku Buari, who adopted her legally.

A man who identified himself as mustapha, gave a testimony today at the Synagogue church of all nations claiming that he was a member of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram, adding that he was sent to bomb the church before the lord arrested him.

Musty who says he is from Adamawa revealed that he and 4 others were sent to blow up the church. He said when 5 of them eventually got to the SCOAN junction, they tried to give one mallam a bag to keep which was containing a metre bomb, but the mallam refused.
So they entered a restaurant wich was very close to church. They were eating and watching SCOAN when the man of God started praying for viewers. He said the prayers caused confusion. 4 of them took off but Mustapha was arrested by the power God and he came inside the church and started confessing.

He also mentioned how they get initiated into Boko Haram and how in a dream he had he saw TB Joshua, telling him to stop killing.

Bury Me With All My Books - Dead OAU Student's Last Wish

The last note by a part-four Law Student of Obafemi Awolowo University, who allegedly committed suicide, Dipo Ige, was that his books should be buried with him. Ige was said to have committed suicide in his private hostel penultimate Saturday at Ashiefa, Ibadan Road, Ile-Ife and was buried at his hometown in Iree, Osun State on Sunday.

It was gathered that Ige and his girlfriend had a misunderstanding before his death. But while controversy still surrounds Ige’s death, he cautioned in the note that no one should blame his girlfriend...

According to Punch, Ige said his valuables should be distributed to certain people. Part of the note read:
"As I plan to end my life, please bury my books with me. My reason for this action is best known to me. Please don’t blame my girlfriend (name withheld). She knows nothing about this. Share my properties accordingly to…”

Fresh facts, however, emerged on Sunday that Ige sent a message to his mum before his action. It was learnt that due to network problem, the message did not get to the recipient until over an hour after it was sent.

A close friend to Ige, who pleaded anonymity narrated, “That day about 9pm, Ige sent a text message to his mum. He told her to come to Ile-Ife immediately, adding that any delay could mean that the mum would meet him dead. When she eventually got the message around 10pm, she immediately alerted his close friend, Bola Okiji, to check on him. Unfortunately, Okiji was not in Ile-Ife, he was at Ilesha.

“The mum sent another lady living close to him to check him. The lady met Ige’s door locked. She peeped through the key hole and saw Ige, who appeared lifeless. She screamed, broke the door and raised the alarm, which attracted the neighbours.”

Anyway, his friend Okiji is insisting that Ige committed suicide because of “academics love.” He said Ige was a brilliant student in second class upper grade before his death. What a sad end!

Christians Arrested In Enugu Nigeria For Burning Shrines During Crusade

 

6 guys have been arrested in Umuaji, a village located in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu state after burning down several shrines.

According to Vanguard, the suspect who are Christian people of Umuaji burned down the pagan shrines during a powerful crusade.

The 6-man group claimed that the burnt shrines were responsible for the backwardness of their community and her indigenes, adding that they had the approval of the natives to destroy the shrines as part of spiritual cleansing of the area.

But while Christians in the area were celebrating the destruction of the shrines, the four priests in-charge of the burnt shrines reported the arson to the police which led to the arrest of Nnaeme and members of his group.

Police spokesman in the state, Ebere Amaraizu, stated that the police has commenced full scale investigations into the “incident of burning down of different sacred shrine houses in the community as well as damaging of other valuable items at Umuaji Aguobuowa in Ezeagu local Government Area of Enugu State.

He said:

“On 7/1/14 in the early hours, a group known as Indigenous Christians of Umuaji led by one Joseph Nnaeme, alias 404 gathered themselves and went on rampage during their crusade in the community and during which different sacred shrines of the community were burnt down and other valuable items damaged. Six persons have been arrested in connection with the incident just as the state command has advised members of the community to remain calm and law abiding while the investigation lasts”.

Krista Guarino is only nine years old yet has already proved she is an expert snake handler.

The brave schoolgirl lives with a staggering 30 reptiles, including anacondas and a 12ft python at her home in Warren, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.

She eats, sleeps and plays with the creatures – some of which are twice her size.

And she’s even been bitten a few times but none of the snakes are venomous – and courageous Krista says it doesn’t hurt.

She said: ‘I’m never afraid of snakes, not even a little bit. I’m crazy for them.’

Krista, the eldest of three children, was first introduced to the animals by father Jamie, 33, who is a snake specialist. And she held her first when she was just two years old.

Mr Guarino said: ‘Snake was one of her first ever words. I knew when she was very little that they were going to be her passion.

‘From an early age she wasn’t like a normal kid – she wasn’t afraid of snakes at all. She just wants to go up and grab them and pet them and play with them.’

During the summer holidays Krista helps her father out at their local reptile house. And isn’t afraid to play, train and handle any snake. She even helps to feed the alligators.

The father and daughter also enjoy weekends searching for rattlesnakes, some of the most dangerous snakes in the world.

The pair upload videos all their adventures to their YouTube channel SnakeHuntersTV.

Mr Guarino said: ‘Krista would rather play with the snakes than her friends at school.’

But not everyone is as comfortable around the animals as Krista.

Mother Ashli, 28, admits she hated snakes before she met Jamie but has gradually become used to having them in the house.

And Mr Guarino’s mother, Laura, 55, says she hasn’t always been comfortable with her granddaughter playing with snakes.

She said: ‘I don’t like snakes at all and it really bothers me when I see Krista handling them. ‘

But Mr Guarino insists his daughter has never been in any danger.

He said: ‘I’ve had some negative comments from people saying that snakes are evil and I shouldn’t let my daughter be around them because she could be killed.

‘These people are really ignorant about snakes. My daughter is never in any danger. This is what Krista loves and I don’t want to deprive her of that.

‘She is really smart and knows which snakes are safe and which aren’t. She really understands them and handles them like a responsible adult would. I don’t worry about her at all.

‘It’s fascinating to watch her with them – she’s so comfortable with them. I sometimes can ‘t believe that my young daughter is so incredible with the animals.’

He added: ‘Unfortunately snakes have a very bad reputation and I’m trying to get it across to people that they’re not as bad as they’re made out to be. They’re not monsters.’

Krista has already set her sights on opening her own reptile zoo when she’s older. And she’s determined to change perceptions about the misunderstood snake.

She added: ‘Some people are afraid of snakes and they want to kill them but I think they’re really cool and interesting. One day I want to own every kind of reptile in the world.’
